Job Summary:

The Aftermarket Repair organization (PSD) located in Springdale, AR is looking for a Welder for 2nd shift operations (Mon-Fri, 3:00P to 11:30P). This position earns 8% shift premium after training period.

  • NOTE: Training may be required to occur on 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 6:30A-3P). Applicants must be able to accommodate the training hours prior to transitioning to the 2nd shift schedule. Position opening/start date is currently 7/1/2024. This site currently employs 200+ employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This position entails operating TIG weld equipment in manual and automatic configurations for welding case parts and material for the aerospace industry.

  • This position entails blending, smoothing, and deburring surface operations on aerospace case parts as outlined in the work instructions to meet customer requirements.

  • Set-up and operate TIG welding machines.

  • Prepare parts for welding.

  • Weld parts to specifications as outlined in work instructions.

  • Inspect parts before and after welding.

  • Complete required paperwork associated with work and work instructions.

  • Maintain internal weld certifications.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance of equipment.

  • Maintain a clean work environment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED

  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions

  • Ability to pass standard weld certifications (internal)

  • US Citizenship due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical trade school / certifications

  • Experience with TIG welding and bench mechanic operation

  • Related experience in aerospace industry

    Additional Information:

  • Pratt & Whitney Springdale, AR is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
