Summary:

Keathley Patterson/CED is an electrical distribution company that focus's on the industrial automation market in Northwest Arkansas. The industrial products can encompass everything from wire, robotics, to parts and pieces it takes to run an industrial plant. You do not have to have previous knowledge of the industry as we can provide the training to get you up to speed.

Summary

  • Process telephone and e-mail orders by quoting product prices, and delivery specifications, and when appropriate offer substitute products. Assists outside sales personnel by processing priority transactions.

  • Establishes and maintains customer relationships. Learns and evaluates customer operations to aid in identifying customer objectives, requirements, and preferences. Processes product quotations and provides continuous follow up throughout the completion of the customer's purchasing cycle.

  • Gathers and reports to management information regarding the company, competitors, pricing, products and current and future market trends as well as assists management and vendors in planning, tracking and implementing sales strategies.

Reports to: Location or Division Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Current, valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

  • Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Adaptable/flexible -- enjoy doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction

  • People-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects

  • Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous

  • Someone who enjoys learning about new technology and how things work.

Working Conditions:

Conditions vary based on the trainee’s current segment of the training and will include warehouse, office and external environments. During some segments, activities will include lifting, sorting, standing, possible extreme heat/cold conditions. Office segments may include sitting for extended periods. Various segments will include some travel – both by car and by air.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Desire to exceed expectations and earn customer trust and confidence in one’s capabilities and performance.

  • Ability to answer telephones and provide courteous, prompt, and efficient service to customers.

  • Possess basic knowledge of computers and software, especially Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to perform advanced computer skills to track and facilitate vendor price checking, rebates, and quotations.

  • Ability to comprehend, read, and to communicate the English language orally and in writing.

  • Capacity to multi-task, to be organized and consistent.

  • Understanding of customer needs and expectations.

  • Capabilities to ask questions, understand the application and offer materials that fulfill those requirements.

  • Ability to up-sell cost-effective alternative materials.

  • Receive and forward customer and vendor feedback while making suggestions for improvement.

  • Math skills include calculating percentages, decimals (.1, .01, .001) and discount multipliers.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office Skills Preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent negotiation skills, people skills and ability to drive decisions with influence.

  • Experience with construction sales in the industrial electrical market desired.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers through multiple means such as phone, email, and live discussions.

  • Ability to work unsupervised while still performing necessary tasks.

  • Ability to collaborate with co-workers and manufacturer representatives to identify appropriate customer strategies.
