Description

Our client, a well-established construction company in Spring Valley, is currently seeking a highly experienced Certified Payroll Specialist on a contract basis for a specific construction project.

As a Certified Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the payroll system, ensuring compliance with all tax and labor laws, verifying payroll data, and preparing payroll reports amongst other related duties.

Responsibilities:

• Administer the company's project-based payroll system efficiently and accurately.

• Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local tax and labor laws as well as industry standards.

• Verify workers' hours, deductions, and pay adjustments.

• Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reports.

• Ensure the project's compliance with prevailing wage laws related to certified payroll.

• Provide payroll training and support to the project team.

• Collaborate with the project and HR teams to understand the operational impacts of payroll transactions.

• Resolve issues related to payroll production.

  Requirements

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation required.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll; prior experience in the construction industry is preferred.

• Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local tax and labor laws.

• Proficiency in using MS Office suite and payroll software.

• Strong numeracy, analytical, time management, and interpersonal skills.
