HP Inc. Senior Director, Personal Systems Alliances Strategy in Spring, Texas

Background:

Join the high impact, high visibility Alliances Team for Personal Systems - a $37B business within an innovative Fortune 100 company. This team sets and aligns the organization on the Personal Systems (PS) Alliance partner strategy and works across the organization to operationalize the strategy while working very closely with executives and the businesses to turn insights into strategy, actions and results.

The Senior Director, Personal Systems Alliances Strategy will be responsible for identifying market and business insights, partner cross-functionally to develop strategic growth opportunities with HP Alliance partners and ensuring engaging C-level partnerships. This position reports to the Global Head of Alliances, works collaboratively with executives (President, Functional Vice Presidents, General Managers and Alliance Managers) and their working teams.

The ideal candidate will have an MBA and at least 10 years of work experience, including time with a top tier consulting firm with relevant case/project work in strategy and operations disciplines and with clients in the technology or consumer electronics industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Market and Business Insights: Identify major shifts in the technology ecosystems and trends associated with HP's 5+1 strategic growth pillars. Uncover opportunities that enable WIN-WIN growth for HP and Alliances. Develops business cases and recommendations to unlock new and/or accelerate growth.

  • Provide strategic advice to the PS business unit executive management teams regarding growth opportunities and initiatives with industry Alliance partners including Microsoft, Google, Intel, AMD, NVIDIA and Qualcomm.

  • Working with the Alliance leaders and HP executives, translate PS long-term strategy into an actionable set of key priorities, initiatives and KPIs with Alliance partners. Elevate this into CEO level discussions for bi-annual engagements.

  • Business and Financial Acumen: Exhibits business and financial acumen to develop meaningful business recommendations; demonstrates the ability to "connect the dots" between business strategy/initiatives, operational plans and financial performance

  • Team building: Able to work and manage well in a highly matrix organization

  • Problem Solving: Approaches problems in a rational manner using sound strategies that ensures comprehensive understanding and effective resolution; leverages data-driven-insight approach

  • Executive Communication: Able to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats across multiple levels in HP, including with senior executives

Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years total experience

  • Management consulting experience highly desired; growth strategy and operations consulting experience, advising and coaching senior executives

  • Demonstrated quantifiable results of leading business strategy projects at a corporate/business level; demonstrated ability to deliver results with large-scale, cross-functional teams

  • Led consulting teams at a Strategy consulting firm or Fortune 500 company

  • Experience in technology industries preferred

  • MBA highly desired, or advanced university degree. Bachelor's degree required.

  • People management experience

The base pay range for this role is $162,750 to $260,400 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
