HP Inc. Senior Application SW Engineer ISV in Spring, Texas

The Commercial Systems Software team is in search of a driven individual who can design comprehensive advanced technology solutions to support the organization's strategic goals and objectives, with a particular emphasis on Windows App development as well as some web technologies experience. The role involves developing innovative technological solutions that facilitate the efficient scaling of strategic initiatives across business units. A strong focus on secure software development and operational excellence is required, utilizing Agile methodologies to create solutions that differentiate us in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use windows-based and web-based programming languages and technologies to design, develop, test, debug, and deploy enterprise-grade applications on a cloud-based system in compliance with security requirements and with strong software engineering principles.

  • Translate business requirements into the application of business logic by following best practices of code separation.

  • Develops APIs for secure communication between applications.

  • Collaborates with peer developers to integrate user-facing elements and business logic.

  • Participate in and conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency. Provide constructive feedback to peers.

  • Develop and execute unit tests to ensure code reliability and performance. Implement automated testing where applicable.

  • Quality driven to identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation or recurring issues.

  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to drive product and software features from concept to deployment.

  • Assists supervisors with project development, including documentation of features, recording of progress, and creation of the testing plan.

  • Contributes innovative ideas and exercising independent judgment to solve unique and complex problems impacting the business.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, equivalent work experience.

  • Typically has 8+ years of industry experience, with a proven record of accomplishment in web and desktop applications.

Preferred Certifications

  • Windows App Programming Language/s Certification

  • Docker/Kubernetes container orchestration

  • Infrastructure as Code

  • Microservices architecture

  • Event-driven architecture

  • A/B testing methodology

  • Grean/Blue field deployment

  • Performance optimization

Development Expertise

  • Experience with DevOps to build/maintain pipelines ensuring continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).

  • Experience with Windows System Programming, Windows Internals, Windows Services, DLLs, WMI, Win32 Interop, SYSPREP (Image Deployment/Creation)

  • Experience with UI development with XAML (UWP, Win UI3, WPF)

  • Experience with source code management like GitHub

  • Experience using tools such as ADO/Jira for project management and tracking, ensuring all tasks and issues are recorded and monitored.

  • Experience with code assistant tools like GitHub Copilot to improve coding speed and accuracy.

  • Experience with C, C++, and C#

  • Some experience with React JS, React Native, NodeJS, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS

  • Some experience with REST API, MVVM

  • Knowledge on Secure Software Development Lifecycle and Secure coding practices

The base pay range for this role is $ 136,850.00 - 198,450.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
