Six Flags Public Safety Supervisor Part-Time in Spring, Texas

POSITION SUMMARY: In this role, you will help create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture. The public safety supervisor will pursue new programs and initiatives to improve our operations. This role is responsible for keeping all guests and employees safe by staying vigilant and alert to anything that can pose a threat.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all operational functions related to the safe and effective operation of Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown.

  • Ensures proper staffing levels are maintained to operate and service the park effectively.

  • Ensures 100% compliance with all standard operating procedures.

  • Responsible for maintaining a “Total Safety” culture for both Guests and Team Members.

  • Present for and participate in weekly conference calls as required.

  • Work in collaboration with the Public Safety Manager to ensure that Safety, Security & LP operational functions, programs, and policies are maintained at Hurricane Harbor Splashtown.

  • Plan and articulate both short and long-term goals to ensure a company's initiatives are met.

  • Formulate action plans and analyze data/trends to drive continuous performance improvements and incident reduction

  • Serves as Division Duty Manager and Park Duty Manager as assigned

  • Develops emergency response plans as outlined in the Emergency Response Manual and Safety Reference Guide

  • Acts as liaison with outside law enforcement, EMS, and Fire Department agencies as needed

  • Provides and coordinates training, including specialized training such as de-escalation techniques, predator awareness, and emergency response

  • Collaborate with all members of leadership on operational challenges specific to but not exclusively to security and safety

  • Perform and train staff to conduct audits of processes and quality assurance

  • Review and audit HSR, complete safety investigations and RCA’s as needed.

  • Be proactive and communicate with park management and Team Members on any hazards that exist or may come to exist.

  • Able to complete other duties as assigned by the Public Safety Manager or higher management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Security and/or Safety background with experience in Security and/or Occupational Safety required, Theme Park, hospitality, or equivalent industries preferred.

  • Currently possess or the ability to possess a valid State of Texas Emergency Medical Technician – Basic Certification within the first year of employment.

  • Must have experience in leading teams, and building and executing security strategy.

  • Must have experience creating annual operating budgets and plans is preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, or a related field is preferred but not required.

  • ASP or CSP certification is preferred.

  • Ability to sit for sustained periods to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel, and drive.

  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site, and interact with employees.

  • Flexible schedule required including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must be able to perform inspections, requiring climbing on high structures, ladders, and into confined spaces, and have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must possess strong positive leadership, motivational and organizational skills

  • Ability to handle multiple situations simultaneously and meet deadlines in an efficient manner.

  • Must not have any disciplinary events in the last 6 months.
