Southwestern Energy Engineering Intern - Summer 2024 in Spring, Texas

Southwestern Energy is looking for Interns for our Engineering Summer Internship Program for 2024 . We offer challenging assignments, extensive professional development, and opportunities for rapid career growth. We strive to prepare you for a successful career in the Energy Industry as well as in your remaining collegiate career.

As an Engineering Intern you will have an opportunity to work with one or more engineering departments. You’ll be given the opportunity to contribute to day-to-day responsibilities and add value by working on current projects and future initiatives for the Southwestern Energy Engineering Groups.

Available Oil & Gas Engineering disciplines include :

  • Completions

  • Drilling

  • Facilities

  • Planning

  • Production

  • Reservoir

In addition to an introduction to Exploration and Production operations, some valuable skills you’ll learn may include:

  • Problem solving tactics

  • Time management of multiple projects

  • Safety as it relates to operations

  • Production optimization

  • Downhole technical background

  • Cost benefit economic analyses

  • Experience in the Appalachian Basin, located in Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, or the Haynesville Basin, located in Louisiana

  • Opportunity to showcase projects that will support the team’s goals and help candidates gain understanding of oil and gas company’s ongoing business

To ensure a successful internship, each Engineering Intern will be assigned a mentor who will oversee specific projects and serve as a technical resource. SWN has an open-door environment which allows you to build your cross-function network and relationships.

At the end of the program, each Intern will be given the opportunity to present their contributions and value-add project to members of the Engineering Organization, including Engineering Management.

To be considered for this opportunity you are:

  • Currently enrolled, accepted and taking courses from an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelors/Master of Science in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering

  • An exceptional student and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Enthusiastic in your pursuit of learning the fundamentals of engineering, as demonstrated through superior coursework, and extracurricular activity or clubs

  • An excellent communicator

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.
