Job Description
The Energy Resources Technical Systems Analyst serves as front line support for Energy Resource application and infrastructure technology needs, such as Energy Imbalance Market (EIM), generation control applications and infrastructure, Human Machine Interface (HMI), energy trading and tagging software, power supply accounting, etc. This includes user and system support, upgrades, service order resolution, break-fix, troubleshooting and root cause analysis, routine maintenance, configuration and utilization of tools to send proactive alerts, cross-platform user administration, creation of error messages that provide actionable information to end users, creation of system design and configuration documentation, development of step-by-step support task documentation for ancillary support groups, and other activities designed to streamline day-to-day operational support.
Duties & Responsibilities
Serves as front line technical support for customers and users
Participates in on-call rotation with other application operations team members
Actively participates in system projects, change planning and execution, and executes routine maintenance for application technologies
Documents procedures and maintains knowledge base
Point of contact to add defects and enhancements to backlog and follow through on details/status with vendors and other resources
Works in conjunction with Energy Resources Architect, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, Operations Manager and Resource Manager and other stakeholders or staffing sources (professional services) to optimize the value of work performed
Use agile techniques (such as product backlog) to manage application demand activities
Ensures the product backlog is transparent and clear, communicating the sequence of work items for resources
Provides analysis of demand timelines, resources, backlog management, constraints, and iteration planning
Works with Product Owners and Release Manager on user acceptance testing and deployment scheduling
Coordinates, plans, and manages work across other functional teams
Requirements IT Systems Analyst, Career:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering or related field
- 3 years of related experience
Good analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret data and draw conclusions
Knowledge of operations and delivery concepts, principles, standards, tools, techniques, and methodologies
Technical experience performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
Works well in a team environment and matrix organization
Excellent oral and written communication skills
IT Systems Analyst, Senior:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering or related field
- 5 years of related experience
Strong analysis skills and working knowledge of statistical analysis and the ability to interpret complex data and draw conclusions
Extensive knowledge of operations and delivery concepts, principles, standards, tools, techniques, and methodologies
Technical experience performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
Works well in a team environment and matrix organization
Able to perform intermediate workflow, performance and financial analysis
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the enterprise (team, Mgr, Sr. Mgr, Director, VP, etc...)
Ability to lead and inspire a team to meet Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets set by management

Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Spokane, Washington headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays with an additional day determined by the employee and manager. (Remove for Bargaining Unit Positions)
