Description
We are offering an opportunity for an Assistant Controller to join our team in the energy services industry, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is a remote position and the person can sit out of the In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and training a team of three accounting professionals, overseeing technical accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This role will also require hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting procedures and the coordination of audit preparation.
Responsibilities:
• Supervise, guide, and train a team of three accounting professionals, fostering a productive work environment.
• Oversee the execution of technical accounting processes, including system management and advanced Excel operations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP in all accounting operations and reporting.
• Oversee and manage the completion of monthly and year-end closing processes.
• Actively participate in day-to-day accounting procedures to ensure accuracy and train others.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and developing improvements.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively across teams, providing support and guidance when needed.
• Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and procedures to ensure best practices.
• Assist in audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
SALARY RANGE: $95,000 - $115,000

Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role or related field
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in Auditing is a must
• Familiarity with Billing Functions is essential
• Expertise in Sage Intacct is preferred
• Excellent skills in Excel Formulas are needed
• Candidate should have a strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with various stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
