Compensation for the CDL Driver

 

  • $24 - $26 Per Hour DOE
  • Monday -- Friday, Start time is 6 am or 7 am with shifts being 8 plus hours per day, working an average of 50 - 55 hours per week

Responsibilities of the CDL Driver

 

  • Operate various types of delivery trucks and vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Operate other types of equipment -- such as boom trucks -- as required
  • Repackage bulk lubricants into drums and pails
  • Complete customer sales orders accurately and legibly to assure customer satisfaction
  • Maintain high standards of courtesy and respect for all customers and fellow employees
  • Accurately load and unload customer products for quality control and product integrity
  • Maintain high company image standards to include personal appearance must be neat and well groomed, trucks must be kept clean and neat both inside and outside
  • Arrange for routine truck maintenance and repair in accordance with specified service intervals
  • Accurately complete driver logs, pre and post trip forms, invoices and other paperwork as required
  • Satisfy customer as number one goal, be alert to customer needs and problems, try to resolve them, and advise supervisor of all customer service activities
  • Assist, stock and track all inventory needed to support the lubricant sales team
  • Meet or exceed all Product Integrity Guidelines for loading, unloading, packaging, and delivering of bulk oil
  • Report any new competitor products, customers, or marketing strategies you see to your supervisor and acquire or refer new accounts
  • Maintain high standards of courtesy and respect for all customers and fellow employees, and develop professional relationship with customers
  • Maintain high company image standards for self and vehicle, personal appearance must be neat and well groomed, uniforms must be clean, trucks must be kept clean and neat both inside and outside
  • Arrange for routine truck maintenance and repair with supervisor in accordance with service intervals specified in the operations manual, and perform minor maintenance functions as required
  • Prepare customer invoices, cargo documents, and other paperwork completely, accurately, and legibly to assure product quality and accurate inventory
  • Attend certification classes and other workshops deemed necessary for continued knowledge and safety
  • Attend department and safety meetings when scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned

     

Requirements for the CDL Driver

 

Current CDL Class A or B (A is preferred) with hazardous material, tanker, and airbrake endorsements or the ability to obtain

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume

Must have basic knowledge of and comply with all DOT industry and company safety regulations

Willing to work long hours to meet customer needs (average of 50-55 hours per week)

Ability to read and analyze general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government rules and regulations
