Fortive Corporation Customer Service and Sales Operations Manager in Spartanburg, South Carolina

As a Customer Service and Sales Operations Manager , you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our business processes. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including:

  1. Sales Operations :

  2. Coordinate and streamline sales activities to enhance productivity.

  3. Manage sales tracking tools and report crucial information.

  4. Handle the processing of all orders with accuracy and timeliness.

  5. Assist in the preparation and organization of promotional materials or events.

  6. Ensure the adequacy of sales-related equipment and materials.

  7. Inside Sales :

  8. Collaborate with the inside sales team to support their development.

  9. Share information, resumes, project descriptions, and qualification data.

  10. Provide knowledge and best practices to enhance inside sales efforts.

  11. Customer Service :

  12. Address customer escalations received from Customer Service Representatives (CSRs), Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), or directly from customers via email and phone.

  13. Maintain timely communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.

  14. Understand client needs, respond promptly to inquiries, and efficiently resolve issues.

In this role:

  1. Building High Performing and Highly Engaged Teams:

  2. Directly supervise a team across multiple locations (SPG, FVL, and remote).

  3. Ensure accurate data entry into the ERP system for customer information, contracts, pricing, discounts, and order details.

  4. Driving Cross Functional Collaboration with Operations Teams, Customer Service and Regional Sales Managers:

  5. Work closely with the operations teams in FLV, SPG and Egg.

  6. Understand product lead times, factory loading, and recovery dates.

  7. Stay informed about updates related to product availability and production schedules.

  8. Delivery and Fulfillment Coordination:

  9. Coordinate communication regarding delivery and order fulfillment with both customers and the Sales Team.

  10. Ensure timely and efficient handling of emergency customer issues.

  11. Fostering a Culture of High Expectations and Continuous Improvement:

  12. Drive targeted improvements in order processing quality, delivery efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

  13. Optimize the automated order entry system.

  14. Actively participate in PD (Process Development) and Daily Management reviews.

  15. Benchmarking and Collaboration:

  16. Benchmark methodologies and systems from other Fortive locations.

  17. Collaborate with the CS Group in Europe and the Customer Experience Process Manager for further enhancements.

Your multifaceted role will contribute significantly to our overall success and customer satisfaction.

Qualification and job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • +5 years dynamic experience in leading sales and/or customer service teams or initiatives.

  • Success leading continuous improvement initiatives

  • Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access

  • Strong developmental leadership abilities to work with, coach, develop and mentor a team

  • Use metrics and other tools to drive department performance

  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
