Overview

Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA) is looking for an exceptional Nurse Practitioner to join the team. This position in collaboration with practice physicians, is involved in the care of individuals, families, and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be a in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. This individual must also possess strong multi-tasking abilities and bring positivity and passion to their work. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients.
  • Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
  • Performs procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
  • Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
  • Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
  • Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.
  • Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
  • May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
  • May promote/provide staff education
  • Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls
  • May mentor new advanced practice providers
  • May precept APP students
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner, preferably in the chosen specialty.
  • RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • AOCNP preferred. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
