Sierra Nevada Corporation Purchasing Agent I in Sparks, Nevada

Are you looking for an opportunity to use your purchasing and supplier management skills in a meaningful work environment that supports and protects explorers and heroes? Join our team! As a Purchasing Agent I, you'll be using your skills and expertise to purchase materials, supplies, and services on the most favorable terms for the organization. You'll be responsible for qualifying our suppliers, monitoring and ensuring our supplier quality and delivery, evaluating bids, negotiating prices and terms for purchased goods and services, tracking purchases, and maintaining a current database of our supplier information.

Will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity, non-disclosure agreements etc. The candidate will submit quote requests to suppliers, analyze responses and complete procurement files per SNC processes and procedures. The candidate will work closely with other departments within SNC and will monitor open orders, work invoice issues, handle product returns to suppliers and reconcile receiving discrepancies.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to represent the company effectively and in a professional and business-like manner is essential

  • Comprehensive written, verbal, analytical and general accounting skills

  • Material Management software knowledge

  • Ability to communicate clearly both verbal and written

  • Manage supplier relationships and ensure they meet the company’s quality standards

  • Oversee the purchase order workflow, proposal development, and resolution of invoice discrepancies.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 0-2 or more years of relevant experience

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Team player with strong organizational and detailed-oriented skills

  • Adaptable to dynamic environments

  • Effective problem solver

Preferred:

  • CPM Certification

  • APICS Certification

  • Kaizen
