Charles Schwab Senior Risk Champion in Southlake, Texas
Your opportunity
The Technology Risk and Cybersecurity Compliance (TRACC) Technology Risk Champion team is a vertically aligned team providing strategic support to senior level executives within Schwab Technology Services, allowing them to manage the most important risks within their business line while making risk informed decisions in the architecture of their business processes. This is a key role within the organization, with executive level visibility.
Partner with several Managing Director and Director level business partners within your assigned business unit to ensure consistent application of risk management principles are being applied
Provide executive visibility of the risk portfolio, while representing that portfolio on behalf of the assigned organization
Drive resolution to escalations, based on downward trending Key Risk Indicators and risk trends
Develop and distribute risk scorecards, with a focus on reducing the overall risk for the assigned organization
Provide focus on key audit and exam related gaps, ensuring executive attention is pin-pointed on the most critical and crucial remediation activities
Manage organization specific control procedures, including the maintenance of the inventory, content, accuracy and completeness of the procedures
Identify new and emerging risks within the assigned organization
Provide support during audits and control validation exercises by becoming a subject matter expert in the assigned organization
Manage and maintain unique risks associated with the use of 3 rd parties within the assigned organization
Provide strategic risk insights both vertically and horizontally, while performing other risk duties as assigned
What you have
8+ years’ experience in a technology related risk function, including audit, oversight, SOX testing, technology risk management, cybersecurity or similar role
Exceptional relationship building and executive written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on translating the language of risk into technology and business language that can be easily understood by executives
4 year degree preferred, especially with a technology or security specialization
Independent judgment with strong analytical and risk assessment skills
Experience designing and managing controls, financial/banking regulations and risk assessment and mitigation activities
One or more technical, risk, or security certifications preferred
