Aerotek Carpenter in Southfield, Michigan

Job Description

Our staff is currently hiring for commercial carpenters. Your primary responsibilities will include performing rough and finish carpentry for commercial buildings, hotels, and high-end residential homes. You'll be involved in tasks such as installing acoustic ceilings, working with metal and wood studs, replacing doors and windows, as well as floors, cabinets, and high-end trim work. The properties you'll be working on are remodeled and vacant. The role entails travel, including 1-3 weeks at a time out of state followed by 1-2 weeks on a local project. The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 3:30 pm. When traveling there will be overtime.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5 + years of Commercial Carpentry (Can be a mix of 3 years commercial and 2 residential)

  • Framing (with metal and wood studs, being able to interpret where walls need to be from drawings)

  • Window installation and hanging doors (being able to plumb and hand hollow doors)

  • Acoustic Ceiling experience

  • Own tools

  • Ability to travel (approx. 40 % of the year)

Nice to have:

  • High-end finishing experience (cabinets, floors, counters, tile, trim)
