Trinity Health Landscaping Supervisor - St. Joseph of the Pines in Southern Pines, North Carolina

St. Joseph of the Pines is currently seeking a full-time Landscaping Supervisor for our Plant Operations team. Reporting to the Director of Environmental Services, the Landscaping Supervisor will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the St. Joseph of the Pines campus grounds.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for safe, efficient and quality completion of tasks.

  • Must be able to schedule work crews, planning daily work activities and monitor the work being done.

  • Able to operate landscape maintenance and construction equipment with the skill to perform the duties assigned.

  • Able to work in and around various landscaping settings including direct contact with various landscaping materials and plants.

  • Meeting with residents or management to develop and refine plans for the project which may include ornamental, ground cover and landscaping structures.

  • Learn techniques and apply practices to complete projects related to landscape maintenance, landscape plant installations, hardscapes, and irrigation.

  • Understand and practice safety in all work circumstances.

  • Must be a team player and communicate effectively at all times.

  • Follow and abide by all SJP safety rules and policies.

  • Ability to complete production work in a timely fashion.

  • Must be courteous and friendly if approached by property owners.

  • Provide training for workers, especially on safety procedures when large equipment or hazardous materials are involved.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school; or 2 to 3 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Experience in fertilization, insect control, and turf/plant disease treatment.

  • Pesticide Applicator License or attainment within 6 months of employment.

  • Must be knowledgeable of turf, plants and flowers in the Sandhills region of North Carolina.

  • Experience using a variety of mowers and other hand and power tools.

  • Experience pruning shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth.

  • Possess professionalism – assuring customer service, respect & satisfaction

  • Must have strong sense for the safety of themselves and those around them.
