Robert Half Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director in South St. Paul, Minnesota

Description We are offering an opportunity for a detail-oriented Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director to join our team based in South St. Paul, Minnesota. The role involves overseeing weekly union payroll for a significant number of employees, supporting HR-related queries, and handling HR-related paperwork for new hires. In addition, the role may occasionally require travel to a nearby plant.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise the weekly processing of union payroll ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Utilize ADP for all payroll related functions

• Act as the primary point of contact for union employees with HR related questions

• Assist union workers with open enrollment and other benefits related queries

• Handle HR related pre-employment paperwork for new hires

• Regularly drive to the plant for meetings and oversight, as needed

• Oversee payroll for multiple union shifts ensuring all are correctly accounted for

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and ADP Workforce Now regularly in the execution of duties

• Assume responsibility for other payroll related tasks and human resources administration as required

• Onboard new employees ensuring smooth integration into the team. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in a Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director role, preferably in a medium to large organization.

• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services is required.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and complex formulas.

• Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now and other payroll software.

• Proven experience in managing payroll processes, including union and weekly payrolls.

• Knowledge of Human Resources (HR) Administration, including best practices and legal guidelines.

• Experience in managing onboarding processes for new hires.

• Excellent communication and team management skills.

• Detail-oriented with high levels of accuracy.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

• A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
