Stantec’s New England Transportation group is looking for a Civil Engineer in South Burlington, VT!

We are looking for a talented, team focused Civil Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in roadway/highway design. Located out of our South Burlington, VT office, this is a great position for an individual looking to challenge themselves on a variety of transportation projects and work on some of the most challenging and diverse transportation projects in the region. The position has the potential to quickly lead to more challenging roles as you grow with the company

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Civil Engineer, you will utilize your positive attitude and self-motivation to play a role in the highway design components of large and small roadway and bridge projects throughout New England. Specific responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design roadways in accordance with AASHTO specifications and using Bentley OpenRoads Designer. Familiarity with VTrans standards is a plus.

  • Develop 3D infrastructure models, including roadways, structures, and utilities.

  • Develop design plans and calculations, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.

  • Assist in preparing engineering reports and technical studies such as design memos and Design Justification Workbooks.

  • Collaborate with team members, other disciplines and offices, and sub-consultants.

  • Perform field investigations.

  • Interact with and present project designs to clients, agencies, and the public.

  • Work alongside experienced practitioners to expand your knowledge.

  • Provide guidance to influence and mentor team members with positive growth-oriented perspective.

Qualifications

What Will You Need to Succeed?

  • Familiarity with AASHTO design standards.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads Designer.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both office and virtual environments.

  • Pro-active attitude, attention to detail, punctual, and organized.

  • Excellent time-management skills.

  • Enjoy challenges and problem-solving.

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in design.

  • EIT certification required.

  • Vermont Professional Engineering License is desired.

Position will primarily work in an office or virtual setting; may require some field work.
