Position Location: South Bend / New Carlisle area of Indiana (relocation opportunities available)

JOB SUMMARY

The QA/QC Project Manager will work directly with one of DLB's premier clients on a data center program.

This role is responsible for assisting the QA/QC Project Manager in the execution of a client's Quality Assurance Program, including identifying work performed by the contractor and subcontractors and review of submittals, tests, deficiency and construction document management. The QA/QC Project Manager will work with the client's Site QA/QC Program Manager to implement an industry leading QA/QC vision and strategy and develop robust QA/QC processes and standards to enable client's successful expansion.

The QA/QC Project Manager will receive limited direction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects, tasks or assignments. Will execute and assist team leadership on projects, tasks or assignments of complex scope. Will work independently or under limited supervision.

This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in development, management and monitoring of project schedule.

  • Lead project meetings.

  • Coordinate / perform QA/QC plans and specifications to ensure completion in accordance with the project scope and appropriate guidelines and manuals.

  • Review and distribute daily reporting.

  • Manage personal and project hours using company tools.

  • Create / complete departmental reports.

  • Identify potential project risks and develop / implement strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.

  • Investigate negative QA/QC trends to arrive at the cause and create a plan to eliminate / mitigate similar problems in the future.

  • Assist with management of Client or GC site QA/QC plan, to coordinate compliance with all client stakeholders.

  • Participate in all regular scheduled QA/QC meetings with Client, GC, subcontractors, and vendors.

  • Communicate and resolve quality issues as needed between stakeholders \u2013 design, construction, facility operations.

  • Communicate lessons learned to the project team on a regular schedule.

  • Review MEP submittals for QA/QC issues and provide recommendations to resolve.

  • Review all design documents for compliance with client QA/QC standards.

  • Review all QA/QC project issues, coordinate and confirm resolution.

  • Attend all scheduled OAC meetings, in addition to any Cx coordination & progress meetings.

  • Communicate QA/QC status using available software tools, dashboards, equipment tracking software, on a quarterly basis via graphic presentations.

    Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget

    Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned

    Requirements

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS (INTERMEDIATE LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING)

  • Knowledge of the four key data center constraints (Power, Space, Cooling, IT Connectivity).

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of mission critical, commercial buildings, or other structures.

  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management.

  • Skilled at using construction and quality management software suites (Procore, BIM360 Field, ACC, CxAlloy, or similar).

  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements.

  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information).

  • Ability to communicate effectively directly with clients and at times serve as primary point of client contact.

  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines.

  • Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others.

  • Ability to achieve certification for NFPA70E and / or OSHA training as / if required.

  • Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Frequently manipulating, moving or grasping small parts, devices or tools

  • Frequently descending / ascending stairs and ladders to access equipment

  • On occasion the employee may be required to position self under or over equipment

  • On occasion the employee may move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

    TRAVEL / RELOCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Local travel to project sites in the South Bend / New Carlisle area of Indiana

  • Up to 70% travel if located outside South Bend / New Carlisle area, may include travel to any or all 50 US states

  • Relocation package available

  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or related discipline

    OR

  • Two years' experience in the construction industry in a data center environment

    PLUS

  • Technical training in any related construction or MEP field (licensed, journeyman or apprenticeship)

  • Minimum of five years of experience in the construction industry, including three years working in a data center environment

  • Experience in QA/QC or commissioning of data centers is preferred but not required
