POSITION TITLE: Migrant Education Program - Special Project - Art Teacher Migrant Education Program – Migrant Regional Service Center 2024 Migrant Summer School RECRUITED BY: Director, Bilingual Services Department/MRSC-Region I IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director, Bilingual Services Department/MRSC-Region I SALARY RANGE: Certified: Contract hourly rate according to current teacher’s contract agreement. CONTRACT LENGTH: Training Session - July 9, 2024 8:00am - 12:00pm (hourly stipend provided - Training at Clay IA) 5 days - July 15 - July 19, 2024, Hours are from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on July 15, 2024, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm July 16 - July 19. POSITION SUMMARY: Provide quality instruction in art making based on the individual needs of every student Provide Migrant Summer School Administrator with student records, including daily attendance Teacher must attend training session as listed above Teachers must provide instruction to students in 7th grade - 11th grade PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to the duties and responsibilities of a classroom teacher, the teacher in this position should have the knowledge and skills to do the following: Provide Art instruction Work collaboratively with MRSC and Bilingual Services Department staff Supervise and provide direction for a classroom Instructional Resource Specialist in support of instruction if provided Provide differentiated instruction based on the individual needs of students May need to work in collaboration with another teacher QUALIFICATIONS: Should have the ability to understand and accept the philosophy of the Bilingual Services Department in reference to the education of Migrant students and/or English Learners Must have the ability to facilitate s student-centered, project-based curriculum (must provide evidence) Must have recent EXCELLENT classroom management skills and proven ability to work with 8th grade to 11th grade students Prefer a valid Indiana Teacher’s License in Art, will consider other candidates with experience in Art - Mosaic making SPECIAL NOTATION: The position requires that staff must be present throughout the duration of the entire Summer Migrant Program. Vacations must be taken prior to the start date of July 15th, 2024 and after July 19th, 2024. The position also requires flexible scheduling of work responsibilities. " />
