Aerotek Maintenance Technician in South Bend, Indiana

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be tasked with a range of mechanical maintenance duties. Your day-to-day tasks will include troubleshooting and repairing equipment such as tanks, pumps, agitators, and pneumatic conveyors. You'll also work with single and three-phase motors, dealing with voltages from 120-480V, and be capable of rewiring motors as necessary. You'll receive work orders from your supervisor and spend 25-35% of your time carrying out preventive maintenance (PM) tasks to prevent downtime. Common PM tasks include changing motors, greasing bearings, and replacing belts.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in South Bend, Indiana.

Work Environment

This is a 2nd shift position, typically working from Sunday to Thursday, 2 pm - 10 pm, with some flexibility on times. Occasionally, you may be required to work on Friday/Saturday. Currently, our technicians are working 5 12-hour shifts, totaling 55-65 hours per week. This role is based in a fiberglass molding company; the building has a distinctive paint smell. You'll be required to wear jeans, steel-toed boots, and a long-sleeved shirt for safety. You will be joining a small team, currently consisting of a supervisor and one technician on the 1st shift.
