Bureau of Reclamation Building Repair Worker in Sonora, California

Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Building Repair Worker. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. Duty Location: Sonora, California Responsibilities As a building repair worker with the Bureau of Reclamation, Central California Area Office, your duties might include: Constructing, altering, and repairing items such as building foundations, framework, roofing, siding, windows and doors. Making repairs that can be accomplished by removing, adjusting, or replacing defective or worn parts and components. Building and installing customized cabinetry, counters, bookcases, and/or work platforms. Performing general maintenance and repair on existing utilities, such as compressed air systems, ventilation systems, water closets, water heaters, and related valves and pumps. Preparing surfaces for coating and applying premixed materials and basic brushing and spraying techniques to surfaces related to civil maintenance. Using and maintaining a variety of hand tools and power tools. Performing other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must obtain and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license. Physical Effort: Position duties require the ability to safely and efficiently perform the physical requirements of the job. Routinely lifts and carries heavy loads weighing up to 50 pounds, and loads weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance from coworkers or equipment (e.g., hand truck). The nature of work requires physical exertion such as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, crawling, kneeling, squatting, and climbing scaffolding and ladders in the performance of duties.
