Reference #: 4451243 THE POSITION The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution at SCI Somerset is seeking a highly motivated and experienced person who enjoys teaching to join our team as a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an electronics trade instructor, you will maintain an inmate work crew for the purpose of instructing, coaching, and educating the inmate in the field of electronics. You will provide on-the-job training and shop instruction for the vocational training of inmates in the electronics trade.

You will be instructing inmates in a variety of electronics, which include general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and the installation of new electronic fixtures and equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining working knowledge and ability concerning electronic components of cell doors and sliders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40-hour work week. Work hours are 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, Monday - Friday, with a paid 30-minute lunch period. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
