Nestle Sensory Panel Assistant - Contract in Solon, Ohio

This is a contract position providing services to Nestlé in the USA through a third-party staffing services organization. If you are selected for this role, you will be an employee of a third-party staffing partner and not Nestlé in the USA.

This is a 2-year contract in Solon, OH. Local candidates will be considered.

The Sensory Panel Assistant supports the Sensory Technician and Panel Leaders with the preparation and presentation of samples for trained sensory panel sessions.

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $20-21/hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 2:30 pm (26 hours per week)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-Panel:

• Set-up sensory tasting room

• Prepare samples or sensory references using laboratory equipment (e.g., scales, beakers, appliances) according to test instructions.

• Maintain inventory of samples assigned for testing

• Provide IT support by launching panel sessions if required

• Anticipate and proactively troubleshoot potential testing issues in alignment with Panel Leaders

During Panel:

• Prepare / cook products to be tasted according to preparation plan, dispense in individual serving dishes and utensils, and serve to panelists according to test plan

• Maintain a safe lab environment according to best laboratory practices

Post-Panel

• Clear dishes, clean testing stations, and store or dispose of product as required

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Knowledge):

• High School degree required

• Basic software knowledge: Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Microsoft PowerPoint is a plus

• Work well in a team environment. Collaborative attitude. Enjoys working with, learning from, and sharing knowledge with others

• Adaptable and receptive to changes during testing

• Good computer skills

• Strong organizational skills

• Attention to detail

• Able to stand for extended periods of time while cooking and serving products.

• Able to follow set sample serving schedule during testing

• Flexible work hours, as required by the business

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

A proactive independent person who is able to complete tasks with minimal supervision. Creative and innovative with a sense of urgency and passion. There is also the opportunity to work closely with other members of the team for guidance. There will be formal training sessions set up for all newcomers to Nestlé as well as specific courses required as an R&D employee. The supervisor will set up a training plan, and it is the responsibility of the individual to execute the plan.

This individual does not have any direct reports

FINANCIAL/STRATEGIC IMPACT:

This position is in support and service of Nestle’s Frozen & Chilled categories: Meals, Pizza & Snacks, Dough and Vegetarian Meal Solutions. This includes the R&D Nestlé Global environment and Nestlé USA brands.
