nVent Maintenance Planner in Solon, Ohio

Position Summary

The Maintenance Planner position will be responsible for developing maintenance plans and repair schedules for the facility and production assets. The Maintenance Planner will directly be responsible for maintenance scheduling, creating PM documentation, clearing repair backlogs, as well as maintaining an inventory of spare parts and tools. They will work directly with the Maintenance Manager.

Key role responsibilities

  • Manage and assign routine and preventative maintenance on facilities and plant production equipment.

  • Prepare preventative maintenance plans and schedules that are in sync with the organization’s maintenance and production goals.

  • Work directly with the Maintenance Manager to coordinate plant projects.

  • Lead communication between maintenance and other internal departments to ensure that everyone receives timely, efficient, and quality service.

  • Act as the primary liaison person between maintenance and operations in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager.

  • Coordinate planned downtimes to reduce mean time between failures and minimize interference with production schedules.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Team Leads, Engineering, Supervisors and outside vendors regarding projects and repair problems.

  • CMMS shared ownership with Maintenance Manager.

  • Assign and direct technicians to install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of production and building equipment in conjunction with the Team Lead.

  • Setup and coordinate vendor and contractor work required for facilities and production needs.

  • Help with keeping an optimal stock of spare parts and materials.

  • Help coordinate large machinery moves and installations.

  • Use basic hand and power tools, machine tools and precision measuring equipment.

  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or technical trade school certification required.

  • 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Strong computer and inventory management skills.

  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

  • CMMS knowledge required.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced; multi-tasking environment and meet operational deadlines.

  • Must be self-motivated, safety and quality conscious, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Fork truck operator experience required.

  • Heavy lifting required within regulations.

  • Able to work overtime regularly and with minimal notice to meet business needs.

  • Good communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
