Job Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide subject matter expertise in the methods of image generation and image preparation for consumption by clinical applications. Design and characterization of imaging components, features, and corresponding system interfaces, as well as verification of the essential imaging performance in clinical applications. Support overall design documentation and design transfer in coordination with cross-functions including Service, Training, and Manufacturing. Work with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality personnel to select vendors and components, and to support the establishment of those components in the Manufacturing environment. Design responsibilities include requirement specification, test development, test automation, and design history documentation, while adhering to internal quality processes. Work with engineers from various functional development areas to test and integrate imaging subsystem components and features at the system level. Support Engineering and Project Management in establishing and updating project timetables, providing work breakdowns, and tracking progress. Support of system and subsystem troubleshooting and root cause analysis throughout development, manufacturing, and service lifetimes. Ability to problem solve independently, to locate appropriate internal and external problem solving resources, and to coordinate a problem solving team. QUALIFICATIONSPreferred or Desired: An advanced technical degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field. Experience with x-ray imaging device design and analysis (CT, fluoroscopy, or radiography systems). Experience with imaging product development in a Medical Device or Regulated environment. Experience in the full life cycle for medical products, including product development, regulatory compliance, manufacturing, and installed base support. Experience with software development languages such as Python, C#, C++. Experience with Linux operating systems and device interfaces. Required: Bachelor's degree in electronics, engineering physics or Biomedical Engineering Minimum of five years of design and development experience in an electronics manufacturing industry (suitable academic experience will be considered). Direct experience in the development of imaging systems and with components of the imaging chain including sources, detectors, calibrations, and corrections. Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment, device operation, data acquisition. Experience with prototype development and analysis environments such as MATLAB, Python, ImageJ. Familiarity with the use of software engineering tools such as version control and defect tracking systems. Understanding of linear algebraic methods in application to imaging geometries and system coordinate transformations. Present concise design and analysis summaries through written and oral reviews. Good verbal and written communications skills, with effective use of office software.
