Our client, a leading manufacturer in the food and beverage industry, is seeking a seasoned Development Chef to join their team in Solon, OH. In this critical role, you will play a key role in the successful completion of their expansion project.

Job Title: Development Chef

Location: Solon, OH

What’s the Job?

  • Share culinary expertise within NDC projects and site activities.

  • Support the development of gold standards and reference targets for NDC projects in collaboration with the Sensory Product Experience team.

  • Inspire and support Product Developers and Technologists in formulating and developing products according to Nestlé and external guidelines.

  • Communicate effectively about product culinary characteristics, marketplace trends, and consumer-centric insights.

  • Independently and proactively manage time and resources across multiple projects, ensuring excellent organizational and planning execution.

  • Apply culinary knowledge passionately to product development, driving business results through discovery projects, pipeline, and launches.

  • Exhibit curiosity, creativity, and prototyping skills to pitch new ideas and concepts.

  • Foster strong collaboration and networking, promoting cross-functional relationship networks.

  • Understand American taste preferences and flavor/cuisine trends, integrating this knowledge into product development.

  • Coach, train, and mentor product developers and scientists in culinary techniques and applications.

What’s Needed?

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional kitchen experience, with relevant professional certifications.

  • Mastery of professional culinary techniques, including logistics/planning, recipe and process documentation, preparation, consistency, and presentation.

  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, and presentation) with the ability to provide clear and concise explanations of culinary characteristics and trends.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.

  • Demonstrated passion for applying culinary knowledge to product development.

  • Strong self-directed curiosity and creativity, with excellent prototyping and idea-pitching skills.

  • Excellent collaboration, networking, and information-gathering skills, with the ability to drive and promote cross-functional relationships.

  • Deep understanding of American taste preferences and current flavor/cuisine trends.

  • Proven ability to coach, train, and mentor product developers and scientists in culinary areas.
