Bureau of Land Management Administrative Support Assistant in Socorro, New Mexico

Summary This position is located in Socorro Field Office. This position is concurrently open to Merit Promotion eligibles under Announcement Number BLM-NM-25-12581744-MP-FRB. Responsibilities Assists with the development, formulation, monitoring, tracking and execution related to budget and finance. Serves as clerical point of contact on human resources for the office, assists supervisors with personnel forms and documents and other human resource personnel actions. Serves as clerical point of contact for resource programs. Perform administrative transactions in various systems and databases. Assists with facility operations and maintenance needs including office equipment, security systems, etc. Process daily incoming and outgoing mail. Date, route, stamp and deliver incoming mail. Assemble out-going mail. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level in which you are applying: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) performing the following: (1) preparing, editing, and finalizing correspondence for supervisors and managers; (2) entering or validating time and attendance records in an automated payroll system; (3) preparing reports, charts, graphs, and other documents to be issued in planning documents; (4) assisting with purchasing requests. Additional Information You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 5 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes. Physical Demands: The work is typically sedentary. Some work may require periods of walking, standing, bending, or driving a motor vehicle. The incumbent may frequently lift relatively light boxes, materials, and supplies and/or carry file folders, copied materials, books, and other similar materials. The work is typically sedentary. Working Conditions: Work is typically located in an adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated office environment. The Bureau of Land Management has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
