Pay: $194,000 - $263,000

What you will do

The Director- Translational science, Self-Care will be responsible for leading clinical strategy and consumer science R&D teams focused on conducting foundational and applied research for building the science around some of our most iconic brands such as : Tylenol® Motrin®, Zrytec and Benadryl. Team capabilities include Strategic Applied Science, Claims Strategy and Substantiation, Clinical Strategy, and Consumer Science. This role will require partnering closely with Self-Care End to End Product Development Leaders to help shape and deliver the products, claims and communication pipelines. External engagement is critical for identifying partnerships that will develop the future of care in these key categories as well as communication externally of the science behind our products. All of these activities are in collaboration with marketing, regulatory, legal, statistics/data management and business development.

This role will be responsible for technical leadership to shape the short and long term future of key brands and demonstrate key leadership behaviors necessary for engaging the best in class cross functional Translational Science teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Self-Care Translational science team to support innovative consumer product development through robust clinical strategies, consumer and sensory science and claims innovation.

• Partner across E2E Self Care R&D team to accelerate innovation grounded on best-in-class science.

• Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement within the research and development team.

• Keep up to date with industry trends, consumer insights, and new technologies that could impact the development of consumer products.

• Develop and implement scientific and technical strategies to accelerate the development of products and enhance communication of product benefits.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including internal and external scientific partners, to advance research and development efforts.

• Manage and develop a high-performing research and development team, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.

• Develop and manage the translational science budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet business outcomes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Sciences, Engineering or Pharmacy

• 5 years of experience in clinical strategy or consumer science in OTC

• Diverse experience in R&D is required (minimum of 10 years)

• Proved capability to communicate clearly and influence at senior levels of the organization

• Has partnered with internal/external resources to drive innovation

• Demonstrated success in working cross functionally and in a matrixed organization

• Has successfully led teams

What’s in it for you

• Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $194,000 - $263,000 . This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
