Air National Guard Units MATERIALS HANDLER (Title 32) in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Summary This National Guard position is for a Materials Handler, PD NGD1955000 and is part of the 114 LGR SQ. This is a Permanant, Title 32 Excepted Service position. AREAS OF CONSIDERATION - All members of the South Dakota Air National Guard or those eligible to join. Responsibilities As a Materials Handler, WG-6907-06, you will: This position is located in an ANG Aviation Wing, Mission Support Group, Logistics Readiness Squadron, Materiel Management Flight in the Asset Management Section. The primary purpose of this position is to provide management control, oversight, coordination, and issue of all individual equipment and clothing items to wing customers. This position facilitates the primary mission of procurement, receiving, distributing, tracking, accountability, reporting, and serving as the primary point of contact for base individual equipment and clothing. A broad general knowledge of general supply, storage, distribution, and inventory specializations is required. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in the following AFSC upon date of hire: AFSC 2SXXX. The AFSC requires an aptitude score of A41 or G44 and physical profile of 333333J. Aptitude scores can be checked on the vMPF or at the Customer Service in the Force Support Squadron and physical profile in the medical squadron. Military grade/rank not to exceed SSgt. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to compare item identification against receiving reports and issue request forms; skill in using hand trucks, dollies, and other equipment to move stock; ability to use hammers, pliers, and other hand tools; and to follow oral and written instructions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 9 months experience or training in receiving, packaging, and preparation for shipment. Experience in compiling reports, overall warehouse planning, documentation requirements, and accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques. Experience in setting up and rotating storage locations considering factors such as life expectancy, available space, product turnover, etc. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. WG-06 - Skill in storing incoming items and verifying overages, shortages, or damaged items. - Skill to select storage locations to provide maximum use of storage area, while considering the movement of materiel with a high turnover rate. - Skill in researching inventory variances and determining cause of discrepancies. Education Additional Information MILITARY INCENTIVES: Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position over 180 days will result in suspension or termination of these military incentives.
