Job Summary
Directs and oversees day to day environmental services program to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of establishment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and staff. Responsible for staff development and standardization of best practices.
Supports the health system’s goal of excellence in patient care in a Christian, caring environment by facilitating positive employee relations and supporting department goals. Provides exceptional care and service to patients, residents, guests and fellow employees at all times.
Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship.
Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives.
Directly oversees 4 supervisors and approximately 40 employees in the Housekeeping and Laundry departments.
Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Provides managerial oversight at the Regional/Owned facilities with regard to best practice and standardization of services.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate’s degree and prior management experience preferred. General housekeeping and laundry experience helpful.
Work Schedule
- Monday-Friday, Day/Evening Shift, occas wknd/hol; 80hrs/2wks
