Robert Half Senior Accountant in Sioux City, Iowa

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in Sioux City, Iowa. This position is within the Government industry where you will be performing general accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll analysis, and general ledger management.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process financial transactions and maintain detailed records.

• Perform analysis on financial information and prepare comprehensive financial reports.

• Ensure control of accounts and records in areas such as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.

• Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.

• Analyze financial statements and investigate and report on variances.

• Prepare tax returns and other corporate reporting requirements.

• Assist with preparations for the annual audit.

• Correspond with other departments to ensure proper accounting for revenue, purchases, and expenses.

• Ensure adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.

• Use technical principles, theories, and concepts to provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

• Independently determine and develop approach to solutions. Requirements • A minimum of 3 years of experience working in a similar role as a Senior Accountant.

• Proven expertise in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger maintenance and Journal Entries preparation.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and analysis.

• Experience in performing Month End Close procedures.

• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.

• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements.

• Knowledge of government accounting practices and regulations.

• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degrees or certifications such as CPA would be considered a plus.
