Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Safety Specialist to join our team under the guidance of the Director of Electrical Safety. This role is crucial in conducting advanced electrical system modeling and performing arc-flash studies, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies for our client facilities. The Electrical Safety Specialist will work closely with clients and team members to deliver comprehensive electrical safety solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and produce electrical system models using SKM or Easy Power software to conduct arc-flash, short circuit, and coordination studies.
Obtain essential utility and facility information to ensure accurate analysis and reporting.
Conduct on-site walkthroughs, gather electrical distribution system data, and install equipment labels as needed.
Collaborate with team members to complete and deliver detailed arc-flash reports within 10 working days post-installation.
Support thermal imaging inspections and assist in customer electrical safety training, as required.
Oversee and guide field staff in accurate data collection, labeling, sketching, and scheduling with clients.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience:5+ years in electrical power system studies, installations, and construction, with strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and National Electrical Code standards.
Education:A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant licensure is preferred.
Skills:
Proficient in SKM and Easy Power software, or the ability to learn quickly.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Able to read and interpret one-line diagrams (preferred).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer and team collaboration.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Qualifications:
Previous experience in arc flash data collection and risk mitigation is a plus.
OSHA 10 or 30 and NFPA 70e certification desired.
Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel nationwide up to 10% of the time.
