The Financial Governance & Compliance Lead is responsible for global internal controls and US-GAAP compliance, ensuring adherence to Veralto and Esko accounting policies. The role drives best financial practices, manages SOX compliance, and coordinates audits. The position also plays a key role in It also participating in the month-end closing process. This is a hybrid position with the office located in Ghent, Belgium.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Responsible for the definition, assurance, and optimization of Internal Controls and US-GAAP accounting compliance globally (covering Veralto and Esko accounting policies, CAPEX, Revenue Recognition, Leasing Standard, etc.).
Subject matter expert in accounting and internal finance policies, including but not limited to revenue recognition and lease accounting.
Lead the implementation of best-in-class financial processes and general internal controls across Esko's global operations.
Oversee the definition, assurance, and optimization of the SOX and Internal Control Framework globally through accounting/finance policies, SOPs, and backup documentation, ensuring alignment with Veralto’s finance and accounting policies.
Responsible for the annual Balance Sheet review process for all Esko legal entities globally, including planning and execution, tracking of open issues, coordinating with Veralto internal audit.
Collaborate closely with local Esko finance teams, Veralto Internal Audit, Veralto Finance teams, and statutory/group auditors.
Lead the coordination of Veralto’s enterprise-wide risk initiatives, including The Anti-Corruption Program and Enterprise Risk Management initiatives.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Master’s degree in economics / finance or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in internal or external audit and/or controlling in an international environment. Big Four Experience is a plus.
Knowledge and experience with the US GAAP.
SOX experience, specifically with 404 and 302.
Fluent in English (oral and written), proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
IT-minded and affinity with optimizing financial processes.
Proficiency in Advanced Excel & other IT reporting tools with strong analytical skills.
Willing to travel globally (up to 15% of time).
