Overview

As a Senior Trade Compliance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our company adheres to trade compliance regulations and policies in Asia region. Your responsibilities will span various areas, including risk assessment, process improvement, and communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement trade compliance operations processes.

  • Maintain trade compliance standards and best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with customs and import/export regulations (including OFAC) in various Asian countries

  • Perform denied party screening.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Review the internal controls and recommend process enhancements for the use of Free Trade Agreements, particularly in ASEAN countries.

  • Identify areas for improvement and oversee remedial action plans for risk mitigation.

  • Develop departmental strategies based on best practices.

  • Risk Mitigation:

  • Monitor regulatory changes in the region/countries.

  • Provide advisory on risk mitigation strategies.

  • Coordinate trade compliance discussions and tasks among cross-functional teams.

  • Documentation and Reporting:

  • Strengthen documentation and record retention processes related to product import/export.

  • Handle customs inquiries and assessments.

  • Optimize duty costs through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).

  • HS Code Classification:

  • Lead harmonization projects and follow through with classification rulings.

  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and due diligence.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in international trade law, business, finance, or supply chain.

  • 3-5 years of regional trade compliance experience in customs regulations (Asia Pacific focus).

  • Proficiency in import/export documentation, classification concepts and compliance risk analysis.

  • Familiarity with FTAs, tariff rate schedules and classification methodologies.

  • Proficient in addressing and resolving customs-related issues.

  • A self-driven, independent contributor with a curious and positive mindset to learn and excel in his/her role
