Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for our distribution network to support our evolving complex supply landscape and business growth in APAC and China. This includes finding opportunities for optimization, distribution effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Network Optimisation: Oversee the design, development and optimization of APAC and China distribution network, route to market activities and drive improvements to optimize, cost, speed and reliability.

  • Operational Excellence: Ensure operational excellence throughout distribution process, develop and implement practices, SOPs, performance metrics that can drive continuous improvement and productivity.

  • Supplier management: Partner closely with Procurement to drive the requirements and performance from our 3PLs to deliver our business and drive long and short term plans for improvement.

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, such as customs regulations for international shipments or safety regulations.

  • Risk management, identify and mitigate risks in our distribution network to minimize disruptions.

  • Provide strategic leadership & contribution to develop global distribution capability.

  • Create and build influence and collaborative relationships with critical partners in APAC and China market groups, regional and global operations teams.

  • Lead and motivate the Distribution team of 18 across Singapore, China and Australia through talent development and capabilities building.

  • Joint owner of APAC and China Pulse action plan and people agenda together with the rest of APAC CN SCO Leadership team to champion, drive and embed our One Team collaborative culture.

The role requires both functional and business leadership skills to develop a fitting distribution strategy in APAC. This is especially the case driven by growth of our business, multi sourcing strategy and 2-tiered distribution network in APAC. With LMV and 2nd RDC in APAC in the works coupled with global logistics complications, the successful incumbent will be faced with complexity in the role.

Focus on ensuring and delivering effective and efficient delivery and replenishment of our products to our retail partners and direct consumers via online and offline platforms.

The regional and global scope requires the ability to influence across multiple cultures and time horizons (operational to strategic).

Ability to demonstrate the E2E value chain through a vast knowledge of APAC market, channel development, market operations and supply chain to optimize our distribution network.

This role has a global and regional scope with a significant impact on the Global & Regional Pinnacle metrics. This role also has a pivotal position in the value chain, enabling transparency & influence over of the full E2E Supply chain.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Academic Degree in Technical or Business Process oriented field of study.

  • 15+ years of experience in distribution in a consumer goods business with multiple sourcing locations and wide distribution network.

  • Strong experience with 3PL Management and WMS.

  • Strong experience in performance metrics and process improvements in logistics or distribution environment.

  • Extensive experience of leading teams across different levels.

  • Experience of E2E supply chain operations.

  • Strong communicator (both written and verbal) and proven active partner management ability to wider group in timely and open manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to be highly resilient and able to thrive in stressful situations.

  • Ability to adapt and react to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to collaborate and influence across different cultures.

  • Experience of delivering results over a strategic & operational horizon.

  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and think critically.

  • Ability to make the complex simple, to drive effective decision-making with cross-functional management teams.
