Principal Product Development Engineer

Job Overview

• Responsible for high-speed backplane connector and/or high-speed mezzanine connector product design & development, which are used inside of Server and storage for data communication.

• Following TE LEANPD process to complete new product design and development along with project development team, including but not limited to customer requirements alignment, concept conceives, detailed design, product qualification and production.

• Initiate the concepts for next generation new products, offering the optionality in technical solutions, proactively prove the feasibility and mitigate the risks.

• Plan and set up the team capability and resources for platform products.

• Work closely with SA/FAE/PM to review VOC and convert to TE product specification.

• Conceives concepts, feasibility study along with project team, proto sample and validation.

• Detailed design such as DFMEA, Tolerance analysis, Mechanical and thermal simulation, 2D drawing and so on.

• Product qualification following product specification.

• Technical support to quality and efficiency improvement for safe launch

• Technical support to customers, Sales/FAE, PM and Ops teams globally

What your background should look like:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required and Master is preferred.

• 15 years or above experience in connector design or manufacturing engineering

• Knowledge in connector design and development, including but not limited to, material selection, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, product qualification, etc.

• Knowledge in manufacturing process including machining, molding, stamping, plating, etc.

• Strong capability on problem solving.

• Excellent skill in Design Software (For Example: Pro/E, CREO, AutoCAD. etc.)

• Excellent skill inMS office software (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, etc)
