Abbott Planner/Buyer in Singapore, Singapore

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

  • Responsible for obtaining materials and components necessary for production.

  • Determines material requirements from production schedules and maintains inventory at planned levels.

  • Produces detailed schedules, mate rial requirement lists and production plans for the manufacturing of products.

  • Checks production activity and sales forecasts to provide a controlled flow of materials timed to meet production requirements.

  • Inventory management.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Production scheduling and control.

  • Material planning, ensure material availability for production use. Inventory management, execute inventory strategies according to plan. Minimize obsolescence risk.

  • Work with suppliers, provide monthly forecast, confirm purchases and secure supplier commitments for required arrivals.

  • Track finished products Order fulfilment on time in full.

  • Participate in weekly material review and ensure material issues are elevated and resolved in a timely manner.Creates and processes purchase orders in accordance with documentedprocurement processes. Executes procurement plans, reports supplier performance, aligns contracts and processes purchase requests while ensuring the timely and uninter rupted flow of materials between suppliers and site.

  • Managers order through completion and executes closures once fulfilled.

  • Interacts with suppliers and is responsible for maintaining and enhancing good business relationship between Abbott and suppliers.

  • Responsible for material planning, purchasing and inventory levels of assigned components required to support the manufacturing build process, utilizing time-phased MRP and / or other types of specialized materials and inventory-related systems.

  • Raise and maintain supplier schedules for materials aligned with production requirements and stock holding policies as defined and amended from time to time. Undertake or arrange expediting of materials to satisfy production requirements and liaise with suppliers as necessary.

  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Good communication skills for effective interaction within the plant and with customers throughout the worldwide Abbott organization.

  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Team player with ability to work independently under tight schedule.
