The Maintenance and Facility Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for diverse and complex assignments in support of Cell Culture product manufacturing. Assignments may include but are not limited to setting up and running facility and production equipment, carrying out experiments, troubleshooting, reporting/documenting results of tests and measures, and driving operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is part of the Engineering and Maintenance department for the Cell Culture manufacturing site located at 25, Tuas South Street 1 and will be onsite.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Perform and oversee preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibration of facility and production equipment.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting and conduct experiments and tests, as required to conclude facility and production equipment issues.

  • Assist the engineering manager in PLC-related troubleshooting and improvement work.

  • Provide evaluation and constructive feedback in the development of internal and external engineering relating to the facility in utilities and manufacturing operations.

  • Adhere to training plans as required and follow cGMP requirements.

  • Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals.

  • Provide technical assistance to the production team to minimize production downtime.

  • Prepare engineering / technical reports including protocols for equipment/process testing and qualifications.

  • Drive continuous improvement projects across all functions based on lean principles.

  • Participate actively as a member of the site EHS team and support EHS programs.

  • Comply with EHS regulations and policies.

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Bachelor or associate degree (or local equivalent) in mechanical or electrical or mechatronics engineering with at least 3-5 years of technical experience in any manufacturing facility.

  • Proficiency in logically troubleshooting at subsystem and occasionally system level, using identifiable problem-solving techniques. Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and assist with corrections to the existing design or process.

  • Proficiency to understand and interpret basic written technical information. Prepare and review SOP and JSP (Job safety plan) for equipment.

  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.

  • Ensures the creation of accurate, complete, and timely records.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing computerized work systems.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with general direction and information.

  • Demonstrate an ongoing effort to maintain knowledge of current technology.
