Purpose:

Reporting to the Manager, Clean Products Trading, the Distillates Trader will be dedicated to trading Diesel/Gasoil/Jet. This role will work with the Singapore Clean Products Trading team to identify and capture distillates trading opportunities to generate profit, both regionally and globally as part of the Global Clean Products Trading team.

Key Accountabilities:

• Contribute to the Singapore Clean Products Team in realizing annual profit objectives.

• Pro-actively identify, develop and implement trading strategies to capture value from distillates markets including optimizing use of storage positions.

• Complement physical trading through financial/derivatives trading to add value from market knowledge.

• Cultivate & enhance targeted counter-party relationships in order to expand Phillips 66 market presence and increase trading potential.

• Negotiate with counter-party traders to successfully conclude distillates transactions.

• Work with traders from Phillips 66 trading offices across the globe to develop and maintain an understanding of Phillips 66 global distillates trading activities to capture value as part of the global team.

• Accurately enter distillates deals into the deal capture system.

• Work with mid and back-office support teams to ensure accurate reporting of positions.

• Develop and maintain an understanding of Phillips 66 global distillates trading activities.

Basic / Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.

• 10+ years of energy industry experience, including at least 5+ years of distillates trading experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience trading distillates in the Asia Pacific region, both physical and financial trading.

• Comfortable trading in an “blank sheet of paper” environment.

• Knowledge of global distillates trade flows and in-depth understanding of arbitrage economics.

• Understanding of pricing and volume exposures and tools/strategies for managing risks.

• Entrepreneurial skills and strong negotiating skills.

• Knowledge of distillates cargo operations and marine markets.

• Knowledge of regional distillates logistics and terminals.

• Advanced computer spreadsheet skills.

• Results oriented with ability to think and act decisively and independently under changing circumstances.

• Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communicative (speaking and writing) skills with persons of other business cultures especially in the Middle East and China.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with irregular hours.
