THE ROLE

As a Demand Generation Representative focusing on Southeast Asia (ASEAN) markets, you will have the exciting opportunity to help promote the growth and shape the future of an emerging technology in this region. You will be the frontline for our customers in their new/early stage of cloud adoption, and connect their key stakeholders to AWS. You will actively identify and hunt key decision makers from target customers and leverage lead sources from various AWS marketing, sales, and external databases and help the customers start their transformational journey. You will profile, nurture and qualify customer leads by understanding their business issues and proposing solutions to their problems with AWS services. This role is our brand custodian who will support our customers, partners, and end-users as they work with AWS and utilize our cloud technology to innovate and improve their business outcomes.

As a trusted advisor who is ‘Customer Obsessed’, you will listen to our customers to understand their needs, and propose AWS solutions who can solve their problems. Through customer engagements, you will identify potential sales opportunities with effective questioning and listening skills. With a strong ‘Bias for Action’, once you have qualified sales opportunities, you will follow the opportunity management processes to ensure that opportunities are handed over to appropriate sales team members, so that we can address our customers’ needs in a timely manner. Your success will be measured by the achievement of your opportunity creation goals.

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Acquire new customer contacts, earn trust and engage with customers mainly through calls

  • Qualify and create a sales funnel of opportunities and track in CRM (Salesforce)

  • Educate customers on AWS products/services & evangelize key wins

  • Collaborate with Inside Sales Reps, Solution Architects, Industry BDs, and Specialists

  • Collaborate with partners to extend reach & drive adoption

  • Evangelize customer success stories

For this role, you will require:

  • Ability to profile customers from various internal/external sources to attain key business contacts

  • Ability to listen to customers, understand needs, and ask clarifying/probing questions to qualify opportunities

  • Ability to think logically and structure answers, and ability to deal with ambiguity

  • Openness and ability to learn sales automation tools (e.g. Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator) and processes

About the team

This role is within the ASEAN CSC team. The CSC is the Inside Sales organization of AWS and is focused on new customer acquisitions across ASEAN at scale. You will have the exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally and cross-geographically, as you collaborate with internal stakeholders across sales, operations, partner, and marketing teams, while being part of an entirely new concept at AWS.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of technology related sales, business development in sales/marketing environment

  • Demonstrated experience in navigating prospective accounts from and into a senior executive level to identify new customer opportunities

  • Proven track record of prospecting accounts at scale while exceeding customer expectations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional fluency in one of these languages: Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia is highly preferred

  • Experience in a business-to-business (B2B) environment, high-tech products/services preferred

  • Understanding of AWS offerings and/or cloud technology (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS)

  • Ability to build and execute sales programs for rapid scaling

  • Knowledge of sales automation tools (e.g. Salesforce , LinkedIn Sales Navigator)
