OVERVIEW

As the Correspondent for CNBC PRO, you will be responsible for pitching and writing actionable, concise articles aimed at an audience of active traders and investor. You should possess excellent reporting and research skills, a deep understanding of financial markets, proficiency in mathematics, and the ability to make complex subjects engaging, clear, and relatable.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pitch and write multiple digital articles each day to:

  • Deliver actionable investment and markets insights for CNBC PRO subscribers

  • Entice potential subscribers to sign up for CNBC PRO service

  • Execute editorial directives from the Deputy Managing Editor overseeing CNBC International's PRO offerings from London

  • Review and respond to analyst notes, and develop connections with investment banks and research institutions to expand access to critical information

  • Pitch new and innovative ideas to elevate the CNBC Pro brand and engage target audience

  • Leverage data providers such as Eikon and FactSet to create exclusive, data-driven PRO stories for CNBC

  • Package copy using graphics, charts, videos and relevant links to create compelling and engaging content to readers

  • Collaborate with CNBC TV, Digital Video and Social Media teams to generate informative and engaging social content and videos as required

  • Assist in organizing and producing PRO Talks, both online and in-person, in collaboration with relevant teams

  • Partner with international PRO colleagues, broader digital teams, and TV teams to generate and promote story ideas

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Deep knowledge of financial markets, especially but not limited to stock markets, and keen interest in investing and trading

  • Demonstrated experience as a writer or reporter, with the capability to effectively manage multiple tasks under pressure

  • Highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented, with exceptional communication and coordination skills

  • Proven ability to report and write accurately and clearly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven news environment

  • Strong understanding of CNBC’s editorial and programming priorities, and CNBC PRO’s editorial priorities

  • Fluency in English language

  • Flexible and willing to occasionally work different shifts when required

     

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a similar role

  • Experience with large online content destination, such as leading news sites or financial publications

  • Familiarity with content management systems
