Summary

The Manager of Inventory Control will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory control operations. The primary focus will be ensuring accurate inventory counts, implementing efficient inventory management processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer demands.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the inventory control team, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.

  • Develop and implement effective inventory control strategies and procedures to maintain accurate inventory records and minimize discrepancies.

  • Collaborate closely with procurement, production, planning, finance, and logistics teams to establish optimal inventory levels based on demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory turns.

  • Monitor and analyze inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and dispositions, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with established policies.

  • Conduct regular physical inventory audits to validate system accuracy and promptly address any discrepancies.

  • Identify areas for process improvement in inventory management and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Generate insightful reports and analysis based on inventory data, providing recommendations to management for inventory optimization and cost reduction.

  • Stay current with industry best practices and trends in inventory control and leverage this knowledge to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to address inventory-related issues and ensure seamless operations.

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

  • 8-12 years direct experience in field of expertise; including 5 years of experience in inventory control or supply chain management, with a demonstrated progression of responsibilities

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant people management experience​

  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices.

  • Proficiency in using Oracle ERP systems or similar inventory management software.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing teams.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Supply Chain training and/or certification is desirable

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to drive results and meet tight deadlines.

  • Continuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with industry advancements.

  • Uses vision to think beyond the immediate situation, explore multiple potential paths, and adapt decision-making style based on the situational circumstances

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment (Constant)

  • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)

  • May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or Forklift/Reach Truck in loading and unloading supplies and equipment (Occasional)

Special Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen required. Must be willing to work on government contracts and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Occasionally may be required to travel within the Continental U.S.

The salary range for this role is:

$97,680 - $138,600
