Job Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants should have the necessary skills to perform the following job functions:

  • Lead contracts and projects for federal clients, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and client expectations and applying industry best practices for managing schedules, budgets, and quality.
  • Build specialized understanding in new subject areas. Based on that understanding, produce succinct, accurate, and reader-centered products that synthesize complex informationunderstanding the difference between summarizing, paraphrasing, and synthesizing informationat a level appropriate to the target audience, whether senior executives, subject matter experts, or the public.
  • Lead and work collaboratively with teams to deliver high-quality products and services while improving readability and content to meet objectives and always ensuring technical accuracy of materials.
  • Work closely with clients and other stakeholders to understand requirements, incorporate/apply feedback, and ensure final products meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members.
  • Design and facilitate strategic planning workshops, meetings, and roundtables with various stakeholders; accurately capture results; and synthesize inputs into summaries that identify key themes and meaningful conclusions.
  • Provide strong project management and organizational support, developing project timelines and charters, supervising project teams and workflows, maintaining accurate records and knowledge management systems, and offering thoughtful guidance on potential approaches or solutions to challenges.

Location and Physical Demands

Nexights offices are in Silver Spring, MD. This is a hybrid position. Candidates must be able to travel to the Washington, D.C., area to support clients.

This is primarily sedentary in an environmentally controlled office setting, although moving between work areas may be required. Manipulating a computer keyboard or mouse and operating standard office equipment is typically required for this position. Summary of Qualifications
Minimum
  • Bachelors degree or comparative experience(4 yrs)in science, business management, communications, public policy, infrastructure security, or related discipline with demonstrated writing experience10 years of relevant professional experience
  • 10 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience leading and working with teams to execute client-facing deliverables
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, managing contract schedules and budgets, and managing complex projects
  • Demonstrated experience designing, organizing, and facilitat ng work sessions and other meetings to help diverse groups come to a consensus and collaborate on a way forward
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical, complex information and translate it for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication that reflects strong critical thinking, analysis, and synthesis capabilities
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to attain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred
  • Masters degree or other advanced degree in a relevant discipline with demonstrated writing experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Professional experience in a consulting or other professional services environment
  • Prior experience in policy, technical, or management roles working with energy, cybersecurity, or critical infrastructure asset owners/operators.
  • Professional experience managing federal contracts
  • Ability to obtain Secret or TS/SCI clearance
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role considers various factors in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is$90,000 to $110,000.
