As a Telecommunications Specialist IV, you will use your experience and expertise to support the daily operational control of our sophisticated voice and data telecommunications LAN/WAN system. As always, safety is the highest priority!

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Provides technical services to daily operational control of a large complex voice, data telecommunications and LAN/WAN system with technical services
Installs, troubleshoots, tests and maintains all telecom/network equipment and on-site DC power systems including batteries (12V, 24V, 48V), rectifiers, generators, fuse panels, solar panels and grounding
Coordinates with SCADA, Gas Control, Network Services, local operations and company partners
Collaborates with Telecommunications Engineers/Specialists to assure the reliable operations of the Company's Telecommunications assets
Demonstrates technical expertise in specialties, geographic areas or operational functions
Applies specialized knowledge to complete projects and/or work assignments
Provides reliable and efficient telecommunications and network services to the offices and field sites located across Western Louisiana and Eastern Texas
Supports the operation of a large, sophisticated communications network with technical expertise and services
Installs and maintains field telecom/network equipment
Maintains and repairs all company-owned and leased communications facilities including towers, buildings, and all associated equipment
Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
Required: High School Diploma/GED, technical/trade school certification or military electronics training and minimum eight (8) years' experience in telecommunications, operations or maintenance
Preferred: Associate's or two-year technical school degree in electronics or military electronics training and valid FCC license, telecommunications certificate or license
Other Requirements:
Currently reside or are willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned location
Must possess a valid Driver’s License and good driving record
Knowledge of communications services (TCP/IP, Ethernet, Fiber Optics, T1, Wireless, etc.)
Preferred: FCC General Radiotelephone Operator license
Preferred: Proven understanding of Cisco routers, switches, and access point
Preferred: Experience maintaining telecommunications infrastructure for a pipeline company, utility provider, railroad, or other related business.
Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Thrives in a team environment and can build partnerships with others
Physical and Environment Work Requirements:
Must be willing to:
Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
Use hand tools
Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:
Must be willing to travel daily using a company-provided vehicle; overnight travel will occasionally be vital
Ability to work after hours, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to be on-call 24/7
