ASM Global Food & Beverage Staff Accountant in Shreveport, Louisiana

ASM Global has an excellent and immediate opening for a Food & Beverage Staff Accountant at the Shreveport Convention Center & Municipal Auditorium. Handling, distributing food and beverage products. Receiving shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible monthly Food & Beverage inventory count and reconciliation of balance sheet account.

  • Process Food & Beverage product transfers and assist their department in utilizing FIFO inventory practices.

  • Responsible for the cost analysis for the Food & Beverage Department.

  • Processes invoices on a daily basis

  • Administrative support.

  • Assist Senior Accountant as needed

  • Manages product inventory.

  • Rotates inventory practicing FIFO (first in, first out)

  • Product transfers: pre-event and during events and ensure proper storage.

  • Responsible for the recording of monthly inventory.

  • Additional duties and tasks as assigned.

  • Ability to distribute and reconcile cash distributions for both Food & Beverage and Finance as needed.

  • Manager on Duty.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to communicate and execute instructions via radio (walkie talkie) Ability to regularly move and lift to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work within a “team” oriented environment.

  • Requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

    Supervisory Responsibilities None

    Education and/or Experience

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Finance from a four year college or equivalent.

  • 6 months’ foodservice experience and/or training; fast food experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have extensive knowledge of general and cost accounting.

  • Excellent math skills; high aptitude for figures.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • The ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.

    Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide (basic mathematics skills).

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic

    Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have extensive knowledge of accounting software, spreadsheets and word processing software.

Other Qualifications

  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
