JOB REQUIREMENTS: Transportation Safety and Compliance Manager - 51345 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensuring Johnsonville\'s delicious sausage products are delivered accurately and on time to customers nationwide requires a commitment to detail and precision. As a member of our logistics team, you must be detail-oriented but also be able to see the big picture - to ensure all elements of the supply chain process are considered and accounted for during the distribution process. We are looking for an organized, critical thinker, Fleet Safety and Compliance Coordinator with a passion for developing people. The Fleet Safety and Compliance Coordinator will institute proactive driver safety training, facilitate safety meetings, devise and manager driver safety awards. The Coordinator will drive safety initiatives and be the subject matter expert for DOT compliance for Fleet and non-Fleet related operations. Responsibilities: * Implement proactive driver safety initiatives: communicate application of programs, processes, policy and strategy to fleet operations and drivers. * Evaluate driver safety performance and compliance, administer driver safety incentive program and corrective action plans when applicable. * Develop and maintain key metrics, monthly reporting and manage the annual Safety banquet. * Identify, establish and maintain DOT requirements for Fleet and non-Fleet related Members. * Maintain proper vehicle operating authority, licenses, permits and insurance credentials. * Company Designated Employer Representative (DER), manage DOT random drug and alcohol program for CDL drivers. * Ensure FMSCA compliance and CSA/BASIC information is accurate; offer recommendations and action plans based on data and trends ensuring accurate best in class results. * Lead accident and incident investigations, process claims, root cause analysis, reporting, and corrective actions. * Support driver retention, hiring, and orientation. * Compile data and reporting supporting International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA) and road tax compliance. * Oversight of on-site fueling operation: contract purchases, authorization, permits and reporting. * Cross functional oversight of the Maintenance Garage and Fleet Maintenance program. Experience: * 5 years of Transportation experience, managing Fleet Safety and Compliance preferred. * Demonstrated knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations. * Demonstrated ability to design, implement and assess Fleet Safety initiatives. * Experience with OSHA regulations preferred. * Knowledge of Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) a plus. * Demonstrated experience managing Fleet Maintenance preferred. * Industry related Safety, Maintenance, Equipment and Operations Certifications a plus * Experience creating, revising and auditing SOPs preferred.
