JOB REQUIREMENTS: BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction the of Production & Warehouse Supervisor, the Machine Operator participates in the production processing of aluminum, shearing material when needed, packing products, organizing scrap, and performing other miscellaneous tasks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Operate circle shear, square shear, and CNC machines: A. Follow job tickets and work instructions. B. Stay within tolerances and allotted standard hours according to the job ticket and work instructions. C. Perform set up on some production machines where setup is standardized. D. Perform set up on all production machines where setup requires troubleshooting and general knowledge of machine operations. E. Update the Production Software Suite with job information. 2. Perform skid packing operations: A. Pull the skid from repack area or inventory to repack as per job ticket. B. Follow work instructions for packing products. C. Fill out job ticket upon completion of the job. D. Read and update job scheduling board. E. Place completed skid in stage area. 3. Handle scrap preparations: A. Follow work instructions when preparing scrap boxes to be used for scrap. B. Prepare full scrap boxes to be shipped by following work instructions. 4. Perform warehouse duties as backup warehouse attendant as needed: A. Material handling using material handling equipment. B. Loading and unloading of skids from trucks and containers. C. Transferring, organizing, and placing material in the assigned warehouse locations according to procedures. D. Properly locating skids in the computer system so the system locations match the physical locations. E. Pick skids from inventory as required by the production schedule. F. Attend to the dock door. G. Maintain clean and orderly warehouse, sweeping and keeping aisles clear of debris. 5. Responsible for miscellaneous tasks: A. Clean and organize work area daily. B. Unload wooden pallets and put away. C. Load or unload trucks as needed. D. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: LANGUAGE SKILLS Read & comprehend work instructions & job tickets. MATH SKILLS Add, subtract, multiply, & divide in all units of measure. REASONING ABILITY Apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Able to operate a scale and lift table. Able to operate a walk behind or hand truck. Know how to correctly use a tape measure & caliper. Willing to work overtime as needed. Possess the ability to conduct visual inspections of cosmetic material defects. Follow all safety precautions stated in the handbook & supervisor instruction.
