General Summary:

Job Function

The candidate will work in a team oriented environment to take charge of hardware design documents related work based on Qualcomm reference design. This engineer must have excellent writing and documentation skills which can guide and communicate effectively within a complex, matrix environment with hardware team members. Prior corporate writing and documentation experience as a support engineer for mobile hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop a wide variety of technical documentation template in English, such as design overview, guidelines, application note, user manual, test report, etc.

• Works with design engineer to create design documents from R&D team, and standardize, polish.

• Write, review, format, edit and process technical documentation, and post the external documents to customer.

• Drive peer review and continuous improvement on documentation process, methods and tools.

• Design and maintain the team WIKI and SharePoint sites, based on enterprise system framework, to ensure hardware team daily work and factory manufacture on time.

• Apply and maintain projects MCNs, including device MCN, kit MCN, mbom MCN, ebom MCN, and documents MCN.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in written composition and a background in the structure and use of the English language.

• Experience with technical documentation processes and methods.

• Well versed in graphical editing tools such as Visio.

• Previous experience in mobile hardware development.

• Experience in using XML tools to create documentation.

• Basic technical knowledge within hardware circuit is plus.

• Aptitude to work on multiple projects at once.

• Demonstrates initiative in defining process and documentation issues and offering solutions.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in electrical, communications, or relevant technical field

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Associate's degree and 3+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.

OR

High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of Support Engineering or related work experience.

*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master’s = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.
