Danaher Corporation Strategy and Open Innovation Director, Diagnostics Platform in Shanghai, China

POSITION SUMMARY

This position gathers market information, perform analyses to develop China DX platform strategy together with Head of Strategy and BD, Opco leaders. S/he works with OpCos to conduct external analysis to help develop a current and future view of market trends and changes, considering healthcare policy, competitive landscape and emerging technologies. S/he will gain insights of Dx Opcos and identify common strategic challenges to develop and execute platform based collaborative opportunities to accelerate growth, including external partnership, Dx council related key initiatives, China Dx Strat development, localization strategic development, etc. S/he also works with the Head of Open Innovation to identify the unique unmet market needs in China, translates the market opportunities to project charters for PPG review, manages the entire process of Open Innovation, and drives the funnel building and IPV (Incremental Pipeline Value) growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strategy expertise using internal and external sources of information (e.g., customer data, market data, industry data, etc.) for Dx Platform’s strategic decision making

  • Work with OpCos strategy and marketing leaders to analyze policy and regulation impact, understand market trend, segmentation, competition and customer needs, and help developing China Strat Plan

  • Participates in corporate, division and business unit strategic and tactical planning process

  • Organize and lead China Dx Platform council for collaborative opportunities, execute critical external partnership and development opportunities, Develop and execute Dx Platform strategic initiatives to address common challenges facing by OpCos

  • Manage and drive open innovation and localization strategies for Dx Platform, including funnel building and IPV growth

  • Support assessment of target partnership companies in the related Dx Platform field

  • Facilitate and coordinate Dx Platform market intelligence work for Danaher China and support on strategic market updates including OCE Review, China President Letter and China Market Update

  • Ensure clear segmentation of region by market and customer and work with China Dx Platform President to ensure there is communication and programs to support business growth in target markets and customers

  • Communicates program status, plans and strategies to senior executives

  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate the strategic vision and gain buy-in from stakeholders at all levels

  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address complex challenges and find effective solutions

  • Leadership: Effective leadership and management skills to guide cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with the strategic vision

  • Prioritization / multi-tasking: need to have the big picture in driving strategy development including using 80/20 rules to clearly identify and prioritize critical pieces while at the same time being able to multi-task different workstreams

  • Performance Measurement: Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and mechanisms to monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of strategic initiatives

  • Negotiation Skills: The ability to negotiate partnerships, alliances, and contracts that support the organization's strategic objectives

  • Project Management: Knowledge of project management principles to oversee the execution of strategic initiatives efficiently

  • Collaborative Approach: Being able to collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure the integration of strategic initiatives throughout the organization
